Youth hostels - More than a bed.

The capital city offers a contrast between tradition and modernity with its visible ruins of its castle, the European institutions, art museums and traditional markets. It has a picturesque charm, and you can sense its multiculturalism and multifaceted artwork at every corner. “D’Stad”, how the natives call it, is definitely worth a stay which you can plan at a dynamic youth hostel situated in the heart of Pfaffenthal where the antic historic city meets the contemporary plateau of Kirchberg. The youth hostel is perfectly accessible from the Ville haute through the funicular railway or the panoramic elevator of the Pfaffenthal which allows you to admire the splendour of the Grund. Take this opportunity to discover the old quarters and fortifications and submerge into the underground galleries of the Bock Casemates located in the UNESCO site. Here you’ll find the ancient fortress “Gibraltar du Nord” which used to defend the city and the whole country once upon a time. The Grand Ducal Palace designed in a Flemish Renaissance style, is also a key spot whose interiors can be visited in the summer. If you prefer hiking, opt for the 2.5 km Wenzel Circular Route starting from the Bock.
