Conditions of transport in the RegioZone busses

Children under 12 years of age are entitled to free transport if accompanied by a person of at least 12 years of age in possession of a valid "RegioZone" transport ticket. However, if the journey is entirely made abroad, this free of charge isn't granted.

Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

"Studentepass RegioZone":

The RegioZone fare for cross-border bus links is based on a single progressive fare per zone. Two zones for cross-border bus lines have been defined in regards to their distance to Luxembourg:

  • RegioZone 1 – All cross-border RGTR lines as well as line 410 (except the bus stops in Dillingen and Saarlouis of line 405 & line L40 Saarbrücken-Express)
  • RegioZone 2 – The bus stops in Dillingen and Saarlouis of line 405 & line L40 Saarbrücken-Express
The “Studentepass” is valid for unlimited journeys on cross-border RegioZone bus lines from the day it is validated until the same day of the following month at 4 am. It is not valid on international train journeys.
Pupils and students can acquire an annual subscription "Studentepass Regio" according to the following conditions:
  • pupils under 25, attending a secondary school and in possession of a "MyCard élève"
  • students under 30, studying at a university and in possession of a student card.
The annual pass is valid for unlimited journeys on cross-border RegioZone bus lines from the stated day until the same day of the following year at 4 am. It is issued by CFL ticket offices in form of a personalized mKaart.

For a first issue, a Customer Account Request must be completed. The following documents must be joined to the application:
  • University registration certificate or a copy of a ‘myCard’ for students under 25
  • Copy of an official identification paper (ID, passport, driver's license, ...)
  • An identity photo, not older than 12 months, size 35 mm x 45 mm maximum, in colour on a clear, monochrome background. (Only if you don’t have already a personalized mKaart)
Please note: The "myCard" allows pupils to travel for free on lines L01, L02, L03, L04, L05, L06, L07, 130 and 173 without a "Studentepass".

In case of loss or deterioration of a personalized mKaart, a duplicate can be delivered against a perception of a 25 € fee for the remaining period of validity by presenting following proofs:
  • Loss of a personalized mKaart: a declaration of lost from the police
  • Deterioration of a personalized mKaart: please join the concerned ticket

If a personal mKaart becomes unreadable and unusable for unknown reasons (for example technical problems) the fee will not apply.
