Route description

First, hikers cross the Clerve river – which some 800 m upstream is still called Woltz – and walk around Clervaux over the woody heights of the valley surrounding the Ardennes city. Those who wish to visit Clervaux city center may afterwards cross the little river at the exit of the pedestrian zone and then rejoin the trail in the park. The hike continues to the idyllic village of Munshausen located some 100 m uphill. The final part of the walk passes through a large forest and descends along the valley of the Irbich brook, which flows into the Clerve in Drauffelt.

This walk may be extended via the CFL trail 4, Drauffelt – Kautenbach (16,2 km). Those who wish to walk back to Clervaux, may do so via CFL trail 3, Clervaux – Drauffelt (6,7 km), in the opposite direction.
