From 20 March to 6 April 2014, the CFL are organising the fourth photo exhibition in the “Solidarity in Train Stations” series at Luxembourg train station. The 12 railway companies participating in this initiative are committed to achieving social actions in urban and rail spaces, together with public institutions and a network of associations.
Why the title “Och mech gesäit een an der Gare / You see me at the station too”?
Because the people we see in stations are of different nationalities, sections of society and colours. The “Solidarity in Train Stations” exhibitions call for us to be tolerant and fight exclusion and they also remind us that the faces of society are very diverse.
In 2008, the French (SNCF), Italian (FS), Belgian (SNCB), Polish (PKP) and Luxembourgish railway companies (CFL) signed a joint charter emphasising their commitment to developing social initiatives in European train stations. At present, 12 members have signed the Charter, including the railway companies of the Czech Republic (CD), Romania (CFR SA), Portugal (CP), Denmark (DSB), Bulgaria (NRIC), Norway (NBS) and Slovenia (SZ).
